On the 12th of October on an early Saturday morning, Cadets woke up to head to the local Tierrasanta Lutheran Church for some hard volunteer work! Cadets volunteered from nine in the morning to nine at night. Cadets helped set up tables and stands before the event, then transferred cooking equipment from storage containers to the kitchen. Afterwards, cadets were given a break to play a great game of Knockout and hone their drill skills. When the event began, cadets immediately posted at their stations for the day. Cadets took turns acting as security and showing cars where to go on the main road, selling drinks, handing out food, and picking up trash throughout the entirety of the event. Cadets worked hard fulfilling job roles and making sure that guests who arrived had a great time. Towards the end of the event, Tierrasanta residents gathered around to listen to some music by our local bands and watch fireworks displayed in the night sky. When the event was over, a few cadets had stayed afterwards to put equipment away and pick up any trash left around the area. We had three times more volunteers this year than last year, shattering our previous records before. A total of 274 man hours were counted for the day, and we cannot express our gratitude enough for the cadets who took time out of their weekend to help serve the community!
