Canyon Hills NJROTC cadets were recently given the incredible opportunity to participate in a unique and enriching experience, Meet the Fleet at 32 Street! During the field trip, cadets had the chance to board active naval ships, engage in informative discussions with military personnel, and gain firsthand insight into life in the armed forces. Cadets had visited the USS Montgomery (LCS-8), USS Tripoli (LHA-7), and USS Pinckney (DDG-91). Not only did cadets have the chance to board ships, but also walk around vendors and purchase food. Many other schools were present at the event, including elementary schools, middle schools, and other high schools. The cadets not only deepened their understanding of naval operations but also enjoyed valuable time interacting with fellow cadets and active-duty service members, strengthening bonds and fostering a deeper sense of camaraderie and respect for those who serve.
